The NTT IndyCar Series and regional grocery store chain Hy-Vee have announced an extension to their partnership that will see sponsorship and support continue for the race weekend at Iowa Speedway.
Hy-Vee has played a critical role in making the IndyCar races at Iowa Speedway a success in recent years, with their involvement going well beyond naming rights for the races.
The brand helped to renovate the circuit and continues to bring a lot of visibility to the double-header event.
Signs and displays promoting the race fill the grocery chain’s stores all across Iowa, as do cardboard cutouts of the driver of the Hy-Vee-sponsored #45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing entry Christian Lundgaard.
“This event has been a great fit for Hy-Vee,” said Hy-Vee’s executive chairman Randy Edeker. “We look forward to continuing to support this race in Iowa by serving as the title sponsor in the years ahead.
“We set out to make this a world-class event and believe the momentum we have created will continue into the future as IndyCar continues to gain more fans year after year.”
This year’s event features multiple high-profile musical acts as well as racing throughout the weekend, with fans being able to enjoy both with a single ticket purchase.
The structure of the event has drawn praise from teams and fans alike, with a lot of effort being spent to allow the facility to host a full spectrum of entertainment during each race weekend.
The new agreement will see Hy-Vee continue as partner of the event for multiple years to come, with hope that the venue can continue to attract sellout crowds in the neighborhood of 2023’s 85,000 spectator attendance figure.
