Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheet during Free Practice 2 for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, lapping the Barcelona circuit in 1:13.264s.
Home hero Carlos Sainz finished second for Ferrari, just 0.022s shy of Hamilton’s best effort with Lando Norris making it three different machines in the top three courtesy of a 1:13.319s lap in his McLaren.
Pierre Gasly impressed with the fourth fastest time in his Alpine with Max Verstappen rounding out the top five.
Charles Leclerc improved on his lacklustre FP1 session to finish sixth in FP2 with Oscar Piastri seventh for McLaren.
George Russell rounded out the Mercedes effort in eighth, ahead of Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas, who completed the top-10.
