Lewis Hamilton led proceedings in Formula 1’s opening practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix with a 1:12.169s effort.
Hamilton finished 0.029s ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, with Geroge Russell 0.126s back in third to round off a successful session for Mercedes.
Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc (albeit on the medium tyres) rounded out the top five for McLaren and Ferrari respectively.
Behind Leclerc were the two Aston Martins, led by Fernando Alonso ahead of team-mate Lance Stroll.
RB acclimatised well to the Monaco circuit with Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo in eighth and ninth respectively.
Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz completed the top-10, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez just outside the top half of the timesheet in 11th and 12th.
