Williams has announced there will be a slight tweak to its livery for this weekend’s Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix as the Duracell Bunny will feature on the team’s FW46.
The Grove-based squad has been partnered with Duracell since 2022 and the American battery manufacturer’s presence on the side’s design scheme will be increased.
Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant will race the two cars around the prestigious Monte Carlo streets with the pink Bunny sported on the engine cover during the weekend.
This enhanced collaboration is designed to promote Duracell’s new Optimum battery innovation, which will also comprise a TV commercial revolving around Williams.
Duracell’s advert will see its Bunny “unlock the next level of power to match the high performance of Williams”, to be aired in 15 countries in Europe and South America.
“Williams Racing is excited to be giving the Duracell Bunny his first taste of Formula 1 in Monaco, uniting an iconic symbol with an iconic racetrack,” Williams Commerical Director James Bower said. “Seeing him speed through the famous tunnel and around Casino Square on the FW46 will be truly memorable and we look forward to racing with the power and energy that Duracell Optimum represents. We are always looking to bring innovation to our partnerships and this special Monaco design is a perfect example of that.”
Daniel Sierra, Marketing Vice President, Duracell added: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Williams Racing for this special occasion at the Monaco Grand Prix.
“As a brand known for powering everyday life with cutting-edge technology, we are excited to bring our next level of power to the world of Formula 1 and beyond, showcasing the enduring spirit of our Duracell Bunny on the streets of Monaco, and the extraordinary power of Duracell Optimum – a battery so powerful it’s used by a Formula 1 team.”
For a moment I thought the Duracell Bunny was replacing Logan Sargeant…
