The 2025 FIA Formula 2 calendar was announced on Wednesday, with 14 rounds and 28 races across 13 different countries.
Next year’s F2 calendar features the same races as the 2024 schedule, with certain rounds placed in a different order per the changes made to the 2025 Formula 1 calendar.
As such, the 2025 F2 season will kick off in Melbourne Australia on March 14-16, with back-to-back races in Bahrain (April 11-13) and Saudi Arabia (April 18-20).
There will roughly be a month off before a triple-header commences at Imola (May 16-18), Monaco (May 22-25) and Barcelona (May 30 -June 01).
The first half of the 2025 F2 season will close at the Red Bull Ring in Austria on June 27-29.
Austria will be immediately followed by the British round of the F2 championship at Silverstone on July 04-06.
A three-week break precedes another European double-header at Spa (July 25-27) and the Hungaroring (August 01-03).
After F2 departs Hungary, the series will enter a summer break before returning to action at Monza on September 05-07.
Baku, Azerbaijan will close out the European leg of the 2025 F2 schedule on September 19-21, before the season has a nearly two-month break.
Qatar (November 28-30) and Abu Dhabi (December 05-07) will conclude the 2025 action.
“It is fantastic to publish the F2 calendar that will again see the series join Formula 1 at 14 Grands Prix next season,” said President and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali.
“The pyramid system is vital to the long-term success of Formula 1, and to have this close connection between these two series is not only great for our fans who are treated to even more wheel-to-wheel action, but for the drivers who gain competitive experience racing on F1 circuits and can showcase their talent in front of full grandstands, global TV audiences and watching F1 teams.
“The Championship this year is once again delivering exciting racing at every event and I want to pay tribute to the work of Bruno Michel, CEO F2/F3 and his team and all the competitors across the grid.
“I would also like to thank the FIA for their strategic and fundamental support on this important championship, as well as our long-standing partners Pirelli, Aramco, Dallara and Mecachrome. I am excited to follow the rest of this season and look forward to another great year in 2025.”
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem added: “As a crucial step on the FIA single-seater pyramid, the FIA Formula 2 Championship provides an opportunity for emerging single-seater talent to showcase their skills to a global audience.
“The 2025 calendar provides challenges for drivers with a blend of traditional and modern circuits and destinations as they strive to become our champions of the future. I look forward to seeing the class of 2025 in action.”
FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said he was “very pleased to announce the F2 2025 calendar,” noting that it mirrored the 2024 schedule in terms of number and content.
“It’s the right balance between European rounds and fly-aways, across three continents, and keeping in mind the costs for our teams and drivers,” he said.
“It’s also a good mixture between old-school tracks and more modern layouts, which both have seen thrilling F2 races in recent years. I’m sure, this will be the case once more in 2025.”
