Maserati MSG Racing’s Max Günther went fastest in this morning’s final practice before qualifying for today’s Berlin E-Prix, in what was a very closely-matched session.
The local hero set a time of 1:02.177s, just one hundredth faster than the ABT Cupra of Lucas di Grassi. Günther’s countryman and championship leader Pascal Wehrlein was third, with Mahindra Racing’s Edoardo Mortara fourth, and Jean-Éric Vergne fifth.
Nick Cassidy, looking to maintain his reinvigorated title challenge, was sixth, with fellow title hopeful Oliver Rowland seventh and Norman Nato eighth.
The top 10 was rounded by Stoffel Vandoorne and Jehan Daruvala, with all drivers within three tenths of a second of Günther’s time, providing intrigue and excitement ahead of what could be one of the most open qualifying and race days of the season.
