Formula 1 has announced that it will launch a new subscription-free streaming channel for residents in the United States prior to next weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.
F1 has experienced exponential growth in the States since the Netflix docuseries Drive to Survive began, with the nation now upholding three races on the calendar.
The channel, which will be titled ‘Formula 1 Channel’, will show continuous pre-scheduled programmes ranging from race replays to extended highlights and analysis.
Viewers will be entitled to full coverage from F1 alongside both Formula 2 and 3 as well as the all-female F1 Academy series, which is scheduled to return in Miami.
C15 Studio will run the service as a partner and content from those select categories will be added to the channel five days following the conclusion of a racing event.
Along with content from contemporary racing, the channel will also feature complete reruns of classic grands prix from the archive and popular racing documentaries.
It will be accessible on services including Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Freevee, and Pluto TV to work alongside the two F1 live streaming platforms, F1 TV and ESPN.
“The Formula 1 Channel is the latest development by F1 designed to further evolve and elevate our content experience for fans,” said Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights and Content Creation at Formula 1. “This service caters to the diverse viewing habits of our USA fanbase and serves as a great entry point for new fans into the sport, through strong curated programming which aims to showcase the drama of F1.
“Together with C15 Studio, we hope to develop the Formula 1 Channel into an industry leading product, that serves alongside our existing live broadcast offering with ESPN and F1 TV, to give fans a truly comprehensive F1 experience 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
