Rahel Frey will return to the FIA World Endurance Championship as the Iron Dames announced she will compete in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the final four rounds of the 2024 season.
In light of the recent news in regards to Dorianne Pin and her upcoming Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine campaign, the Iron Dames has confirmed Frey’s return to the WEC.
“Some super exciting news from myself and the team,” she said via a social media video.
“I will rejoin Sarah and Michelle again for the FIA WEC 2024 championship, starting with the six-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps – then after the 24-hour race of Le Mans – I will be with them again in Sao Paulo, in Austin, in Fuji, and in Bahrain.
“Clearly I’m super happy about it to go strong again with the two of them together, after the successful season last year.
“We clearly tried to continue to go even stronger and I can’t wait to be back in the car.
“I wish Dorianne all the best for her new commitments, there is some news about her so please stay tuned.”
Along with Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting, she claimed the Iron Dames’ first victory in the WEC last year at the 8 Hours of Bahrain season-finale.
They became the first all-female crew to win a WEC round as well as being crowned as the final winners from the beloved GTE era.
At the remaining races except the Le Mans 24 Hours, she will rejoin her teammates in the #85 Lamborghini Huracan LMGT3 EVO2 against 17 other competitors in the LMGT3 category.
The 6 Hours of Spa will take place on 11 May, followed by the other six-hour events with Sao Paulo on 14 July, COTA on 1 September, and Fuji shortly afterwards on 15 September.
Finally, the 8 Hours of Bahrain on 2 November will conclude the 2024 WEC schedule.
