Jorge Martin admits he’s “more attached to Ducati than Pramac” amid rumours suggesting that he could opt to depart the Pramac MotoGP team at the end of 2024
The Spaniard has been with the Pramac Ducati team since he made the jump to MotoGP in 2021, where the partnership has seen great success since his move up.
It is plausible that a triumph in last season’s title race over Francesco Bagnaia would have gained Martin an automatic promotion in place of Enea Bastianini at Ducati.
Upon being asked about a potential move to Yamaha or remaining with Pramac for the 2025 season, Martin stated to Motorsport.com: “Well, it’s the first I’ve heard of this.
“Well, at the moment I am more attached to Ducati than with Pramac. And it’s been like this for my MotoGP career.
“My priority, everybody knows what that is. Let’s wait, it’s still early.
“But I don’t know. I hope to move to a factory team. So, even if Pramac changed [manufacturer] I think I won’t stay here.”
Last month, Pramac team boss Gino Borsoi used the phrase “like it or not has come to a bit of an end” when describing Martin’s time with the outfit past this season.
Moto2 star Fermin Aldeguer is Ducati’s newest recruit for 2025 and is set to be appointed to Borsoi’s team and it is touted that Pramac has a clause in its Ducati deal.
Motorsport.com has reported that Pramac has reached out to Yamaha and KTM over a potential alliance, meaning it could split with Ducati if an agreement is reached.
