The 2024 F1 Academy grid is complete with the announcement made on Monday that Nerea Martí is returning for a second campaign with Campos Racing, backed by new series partner Tommy Hilfiger.
The 22-year-old Spanish racer returns after a strong debut season, where she scored two pole positions, six podiums and one race victory en route to fourth in the Drivers’ standings.
With the backing of fashion giant Tommy Hilfiger, Martí will race in the brand’s globally recognised blue, red and white colour scheme.
“I am excited by Tommy Hilfiger’s approach for this season and it’s amazing to wear their colours as we push the limits in every race,” Martí said on the F1 Academy Website.
“By backing F1 ACADEMY he is standing behind female drivers and helping us break boundaries.
“Beyond the track, I’m looking forward to activations and events that will help me grow both professionally and personally.”
Martí joins Sauber Academy Driver Carrie Schreiner and Haas F1 nominated racer Chloe Chambers in the Campos lineup.
The Tommy Hilfiger/F1 Academy partnership follows similar collaborations set in stone by the all-female single-seater series with Puma and Charlotte Tilbury.
As part of the deal, the fashion brand will work with F1 Academy to raise the series’ profile whilst also designing and manufacturing the F1 Academy staff uniforms.
“Tommy Hilfiger is one of the most recognised global lifestyle brands, so it is a great honour to welcome them to F1 Academy as an Official Partner,” said F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff.
“Tommy Hilfiger is fully invested in our mission to improve female representation in motorsport, and their global brand platform will appeal to those outside of the motorsport world and help us to reach new audiences.
“I would like to personally thank Tommy and his team for sharing our vision and supporting a talented young driver in Nerea Martí.”
Tommy Hilfiger added “The world of racing is developing at an incredible pace and the F1 ACADEMY™️ is at the forefront of this movement.
“I look forward to working with Managing Director Susie Wolff, leading driver Nerea Martí and the entire F1 ACADEMY™️ team as they break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport.”
F1 Academy commences in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on March 07-09.
