The NTT IndyCar Series has announced that it will work with Parkside Collectibles to offer packs of collectible trading cards that showcase the series’ drivers and teams in both IndyCar and IndyNXT.
A variety of different cards are available, including ones featuring driver headshots, action cards with cars on track, and specialty ‘Pit Pass’ cards that appear to have a cutout to attach to a lanyard.
Roughly 25 cards will be included in each sealed pack, which will retail for $10, and will include two foil cards, a Marquee Moments card, a Race Events card, and a Pit Pass Card alongside the standard offerings.
In all, there will be 357 different cards available for fans to collect, which is quite a large assortment for a series that has just over 30 drivers in any given season.
There is also a one-in-18 chance that a card signed by the respective driver will be included in the pack, and a select few will even win four tickets to attend an upcoming Indianapolis 500.
The card packs will be available for purchase at race events, in trading card shops, and online.
“We are pleased to begin this new partnership with Parkside, which will reintroduce an IndyCar sports card collection and give fans a dynamic way to interact with the ascending stars of our sport,” said Penske Entertainment Corp. President and CEO Mark Miles.
“Sports cards have always been an engaging way to connect with athletes, and it is satisfying to know the elite, bold and brash personalities of IndyCar are once again represented through Parkside’s quality collectibles.”
Last season, Chip Ganassi Racing created trading cards for the team’s IndyCar and IMSA drivers, handing them out to fans at events throughout the year.
The collectibles were a hit among fans, and likely were the inspiration for the wider offering IndyCar has put together for this season.
The trading cards are currently available for pre-order as individual packs and as a 160-card Hobby Box, and are expected to be fully released on March 1.
