The NTT IndyCar Series has confirmed that the unscripted television series ‘100 Days to Indy’ will return for a second season this spring.
The series will again contain six parts, and will follow drivers during the on and off track lead-up to ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.’
With the show airing on The CW Network in the United States, a production crew will follow the biggest storylines of the year, including Josef Newgarden’s quest for a second victory and Marcus Ericsson, who has finished first and second in the last two events.
The announcement also mentions NASCAR champion Kyle Larson, who will be making his Indy 500 debut with Arrow McLaren and will attempt to run the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day as the race in Indianapolis.
“Nothing matches the show-stopping, high-octane intensity of the Indy 500,” Penske Entertainment President & CEO Mark Miles said.
“The CW will once again give viewers a front row seat as the charismatic stars of the NTT IndyCar Series chase racing glory. It should be a thrilling ride and an extremely compelling watch for viewers around the country.”
The Indy 500 is once again the sixth race of the season in 2024, including one exhibition round with a $1 million prize on March 24, meaning the show will roughly follow that timeline and each episode will cover a race weekend as it leads up to the 500.
The plan is to have short productions times, which will allow for airing of most episodes before the Indy 500 takes place on May 26. The final episode will cover the famous race itself.
“We are thrilled to bring another season of ‘100 Days To Indy’ to The CW and continue to grow our portfolio of quality sports programming,” said Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment, The CW Network.
“Last season gave fans an unprecedented look into the lives and preparation of these incredible drivers, which made it even more exciting when one of the series’ stars, Josef Newgarden, crossed the finish line first to become last year’s Indy 500 winner.
“We look forward to another season of intense competition between these talented drivers and plenty of high-speed racing action.”
Season one of ‘100 Days to Indy’ was recently announced to be headed to the Paramount+ streaming platform starting on February 16.
