In a partnership with EMA Motorsport and Pure Rxcing, Manthey has confirmed all six of their Porsche LMGT3 drivers for the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.
Porsche factory drivers Richard Lietz and Klaus Bachler are amongst those enlisted to represent the Stuttgart manufacturer’s entry into the new LMGT3 category.
Lietz will join Morris Schuring and Yasser Shahin in the #91 Manthey EMA-entered 911 GT3.R, whilst Bachler will drive the #92 PureRxcing car along with Alex Malykhin and Joel Sturm.
As one of nine LMGT3 makes, Porsche will rely on the experienced Manthey outfit, who ran their previous GTE-Pro campaign from 2013 to 2023 and claimed five WEC titles in the process.
Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing, said: “After the years we spent together with Porsche in the FIA WEC, we are delighted to have found two strong partners in EMA Motorsport and Pure Rxcing to return to the series.
“Our goal is clear: we aim to build on our successes and compete for victories and the championship.
“With 18 cars, the new LMGT3 starting field promises thrilling races and a close championship battle… I think our team is very well prepared and everyone is highly motivated and we hope to show that right from the start.”
Manthey holds four class wins at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is the fourth round of the upcoming 2024 WEC calendar.
Pure Rxcing are known for their participations in the Asian Le Mans Series – one of the ACO-run sportscar championships which feed to the WEC – and furthermore in the GT World Challenge Europe, the 24 Hours of Spa and last year’s 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi.
Support from Manthey to Pure Rxcing began in 2023 with the provisions of engineers and mechanics, and so the new LMGT3 era will see this collaboration continue into a new chapter for the WEC.
