Word from the trenches is that Dakar leader Al Rajhi has had “an incident” 51km into the 547km marathon stage.

So far, all three Audis are in the top four…
Update: The leader of the general rankings has not been able to repair his Hilux following his accident after 51 km. The crew is safe and sound, but are currently returning to the start of the special. His hopes of winning the Dakar 2024 have been crushed, but the Saudi driver will be able to start stage 7 the day after the rest day, as long as his 4×4 has been repaired and complies with all the safety rules stipulated by the FIA. For example, the roll bar, which protects the crew if the car crashes and does a barrel roll, must not be twisted or broken.
