Ferrari Academy driver Ollie Bearman will continue racing for PREMA in the FIA Formula 2 Championship next year as he looks to build upon his 2023 rookie season.
Bearman, 18, had a promising rookie campaign in F2 within the PREMA set-up in 2023, taking four victories.
The British driver finished his rookie campaign sixth in the Drivers’ standings, one place behind fellow rookie Victor Martins.
“I’m really happy to be joining PREMA Racing again in Formula 2,” Bearman said in a statement on the team’s website.
“I’ve come a long way as a driver and as a person these two years thanks to them, and I’m excited to continue the work we have been doing into next season.”
“It is great to have Ollie back with us for another year after the great seasons he had with us so far,” added Team Principal Rene Rosin.
“The way he adapted, improved, and developed is outstanding, and we cannot wait to see what this progress will take us further down the road.
“We also think that the experience he had this year will help him and the team in adapting to the new car.
“It’s definitely going to be an interesting and promising experience.”
Bearman began his relationship with PREMA in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 World Championship, having secured two Formula 4 titles the year prior.
The British driver’s first year with PREMA in the 2022 F3 series saw him finish third in the Drivers’ standings, earning him his promotion to F2 in 2023.
As well as completing his maiden F2 campaign in 2023, Bearman also sampled Formula 1 machinery, competing in FP1 at Mexico City and Abu Dhabi for Haas and taking part in the Young Driver test for the American outfit at the Yas Marina Circuit as well.
Bearman completes PREMA’s 2024 F2 lineup alongside 17-year-old rookie Andrea Antonelli, a Mercedes junior who will make the step up to F2 in 2024 after winning this year’s Formula Regional European Championship, skipping F3 in the process.
