McLaren’s Lando Norris has taken pole position for Saturday’s Sprint at Sao Paulo, courtesy of a 1:10.622s lap time in the Sprint Shootout.
Norris’ time was 0.061s ahead of Max Verstappen in second and 0.134s ahead of Sergio Perez in third.
George Russell completes the second row of the Sprint by coming fourth for Mercedes, one place ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton in fifth.
Sixth went to Yuki Tsunoda in his AlphaTauri AT04, with Charles Leclerc leading the way for Ferrari in seventh.
Daniel Ricciardo splits the two Ferraris by setting the eighth fastest time, with Carlos Sainz in ninth.
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri completed the top-10.
