Max Verstappen cruised to a third Formula 1 Sprint victory this season after controlling proceedings in Austin.
Verstappen defended firmly against Charles Leclerc on the run to Turn 1 before breaking away from the pack but was chased by Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton would later lose touch to the Red Bull as his tyres began to fade. The Briton crossed the line second ahead of Leclerc who had to settle for third place after being squeezed on the opening lap by the reigning champion.
Lando Norris crossed the line fourth ahead of Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz. George Russell came home seventh, but classifies eighth after receiving a five-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage when overtaking Oscar Piastri.
Russell’s penalty promotes Pierre Gasly to seventh, which adds two points to Alpine’s tally.
Lance Stroll was the only retirement from the race the race. The Canadian returned to the pit-lane at the end of Lap 17 after reporting a brake issue on his Aston Martin.
