Lance Stroll cut a downbeat figure after suffering a fourth successive Q1 exit during qualifying for Formula 1’s Qatar Grand Prix.
Stroll has endured a difficult run of form in recent grands prix, failing to escape the first knockout segment in Italy, Singapore – where he suffered a sizeable accident that ruled him out of the race -a and Japan.
Stroll dropped out in Q1 once again in Qatar in a session in which team-mate Fernando Alonso qualified fourth.
Stroll also appeared to shove his performance coach, Henry Howe, after he was instructed to walk to the front of the garage towards the FIA weighing area.
The Canadian gave his mandatory interview to Formula 1 in which he was asked to describe his emotions after the exit: “Yeah, it’s s**”, said Stroll.
Stroll replied “I don’t know” when asked what is currently not clicking aboard the AMR23, before saying his approach is to “keep driving.”
Stroll’s recent lack of performance has hampered Aston Martin amid its current rough patch after its strong start to the season.
Stroll has scored only three points across the last seven events while Aston Martin is under pressure from McLaren for fourth in the championship.
