Aston Martin to enter Hypercar and IMSA GTP with Valkyrie in 2025

Aston Martin has announced it will enter the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship with ‘at least one’ car in each series, using the Valkyrie AMR Pro.

The British car manufacturer will be joined in the programme by The Heart of Racing, its endurance racing partner, for both programmes. This may mark the first time an LMH-rules car will enter IMSA.

“Performance is the lifeblood of everything that we do at Aston Martin, and motorsport is the ultimate expression of this pursuit of excellence” said Lawrence Stroll, Chairman of Aston Martin.

“We have been present at Le Mans since the earliest days, and through those glorious endeavours we succeeded in winning Le Mans in 1959 and our class 19 times over the past 95 years. Now we return to the scene of those first triumphs aiming to write new history with a racing prototype inspired by the fastest production car Aston Martin has ever built.”

The programme will be run from Aston Martin’s new Technology Campus, co-located with the Aston Martin F1 team. The car will be developed by Aston Martin Performance Technologies, using a naturally-aspirated V12 engine which will be performance-balanced for competition in WEC and IMSA.

However, it will not feature a hybrid component like much of its competition in both series.
