The 2022/23 Formula E World Championship season finale at the London E-Prix has been red-flagged, following a heavy rain shower.
Action was halted on the fifth lap at the ExCeL Centre, with several drivers having complained of the conditions being undriveable. Rain had been falling throughout Sunday afternoon ahead of the race; however, it intensified moments before the race got underway.
As a result, it was decided that the race would begin behind the Safety Car. Even behind the Safety Car at a reduced speed, visibility was a clear issue, whilst standing water was also present. The race being red-flagged was the only safe option. Rain is expected to continue falling until 20:00 GMT.
Despite this, the race is set to resume at 17:45 GMT, behind the Safety Car.
