The #12 GTD Lexus RC F GT3 of Frankie Montecalvo and Aaron Telitz topped the Northeast Grand Prix FP1 session with a time of 51.762s.

The latest round in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features just GTD machinery at the small, but mighty 1.474-mile Lime Rock Park circuit in Lakeville, Connecticut.

Lime Rock is the shortest circuit on the IMSA calendar and as a result, the top-eight in the session were covered by less than two-tenths of a second.

The second position of the 20 entries was the GTD-Pro class-leader #3 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R that won last time out at CTMP, setting a fastest time of 51.821s.

In third spot was the #78 GTD Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 machine of Misha Goikhberg and Loris Spinelli, 0.070s off of the fastest time.

GTD class championship-leaders Paul Miller Racing finished fourth at what is their home event, with drivers Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow setting a time of 51.838 in the #1 BMW M4 GT3 machine.

Fifth spot went to Mike Skeen and Mikael Grenier in the #32 Team Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes-AMG, ahead of sixth-placed Alan Brynjolfsson and Trent Hindman in the #77 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Seventh overall and second in the GTD-Pro field were Britons Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat in their #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3, just 15-tenths of a second off of the fastest time.

The third GTD-Pro entry on the timesheets and eighth overall was the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas, ahead of ninth-placed Brendan Iribe and Frederik Schandorff behind the wheel of the GTD-entered #70 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo run by Inception Racing.

The top-10 overall was closed out by the GTD-Pro #79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 driven by Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon, who were 0.363s off of the fastest time in the session.

Last of the GTD-Pro entries and fifteenth overall went to the #9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Klaus Bachler and Patrick Pillet, who were runners-up last time out at CTMP.

Given the short nature of the layout, the entire 20-strong field was covered by 1.155s – see here for the full classification.

The Northeast Grand Prix weekend continues with second practice at 14:45 local time.
