George Russell was fastest during a rain-impacted opening practice hour to the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.
A red flag only a handful of minutes into the session denied the drivers the opportunity to post a representative timed lap on dry tyres before the rain arrived.
Sergio Perez was the guilty party responsible for causing the stoppage, spinning his upgraded RB19 into the barrier at Turn 5.
Once the session got back underway, a number of drivers ventured out, with Russell eventually posting the best time of 1:38.795s.
