Jack Aitken leads with two hours to go at Watkins Glen, as the race has come out a long caution to deal with a four car incident at turn 5.
Andrea Caldarelli and Rob Ferriol, in the #63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 and the #42 NTE Lamborghini, were collected from behind by a spinning Alex Kirby in the #38 Performance Tech Ligier JS P320-Nissan, as he lost the rear end of the Ligier under braking.
Also caught up in the incident was Renger van der Zande in the #01 Cadillac V-Series.R, who managed to drive away. Kirby, who caused the incident, also managed to drive off, but the two Lamborghinis were not so lucky and have retired from the race.
Second in GTP is Colin Braun in the #60 Meyer Shank Acura ARX-06, while Nick Tandy is third in the #6 Porsche 963.
The Porsche has led much of the race as it started from pole, but lost the lead in the pit stops under caution. The sister #7 Porsche 963, has been stuck in the pits for over an hour with hybrid issues anbd is towards the back of the field, after running 1-2 for some of the race with the other Porsche.
Ben Hanley leads LMP2 in the #04 Crowdstrike by APR Oreca 07-Gibson, with Alex Quinn in the #52 PR1 Mathiasen Oreca 07-Gibson. Christian Rasmussen in the #18 Era Motorsport Oreca 07-Gibson is third.
Over in LMP3, Nico Varrone leads the race, onboard the #17 AWA Duqueine D08-Nissan. Garett Grist is second in the #30 Jr III Ligier JS P320, while Felipe Fraga is third in the #74 Riley Ligier JS P320.
GTD Pro is lead by Ben Barnicoat, driving the #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3. He’s followed by Alex Riberas, who is fifth in the combined GT classes, in the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
In GTD, Jan Haylen leads in the #16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3R. Second is Parker Thompson in the #12 Vasser Sullivan, while Patriuck Gallagher is third in the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3.
Behind Riberas is Antonio Garcia in the #3 Corvette C8.R.
