Max Verstappen went quickest in the third final practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix on a wet Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Verstappen beat Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to the fastest lap, with the Monegasque’s team-mate Carlos Sainz crashing in the latter half of the session having set a lap that would ultimately prove good enough for fifth.
Lewis Hamilton was the highest-placed Mercedes in 10th, while Red Bull’s Sergio Perez struggled to 17th. The rain is expected to persist heading into qualifying later on Saturday.
