Kevin Magnussen says he sees a “great future” for Haas in Formula 1 and hopes that he can continue to be part of its development.
Magnussen is entering his 150th grand prix in Canada this weekend and has spent the majority of his career in Formula 1 with Haas.
Magnussen is now Haas’ longest-serving driver, having joined in its second season in 2017, before returning on a multi-year deal in 2022 after initially departing in 2020.
Haas returned to Formula 1’s midfield in 2022, placing eighth in the championship, with Magnussen scoring a shock maiden pole position in São Paulo.
This year Haas holds seventh in the standings after the opening portion of the season.
“It’s great to have had such a long time in Formula 1,” said Magnussen.
“As a small kid, I was dreaming of racing in Formula 1 someday and to have reached this many races and have all those years in the sport, I feel very grateful for the opportunity.
“What I see for my future, I’m in a good spot right now. I’m in a great team of great people and am often given the opportunity to race towards the front.
“I’ve had many opportunities with Haas and I see a great future for the team. I very much hope I can be a part of that and live to see the fruits of all the hard work and progress that’s being made at the moment.”
Magnussen has scored points twice so far this season, rounding out the top 10 in Saudi Arabia and Miami.
