Jake Hughes will start on pole for the Monaco ePrix due to Sacha Fenestraz’s lap time being cancelled for overconsumption of power.

The duels final in Monaco ePrix qualifying saw rookies Hughes and Fenestraz battle it out for pole position.

The whole qualifying session had technical infringements and disqualifications for different reasons: tyre pressures, engine power, pit lane procedure or track limits to name just a few.

Hughes also had his lap time deleted in the final duel due to a track limits violation at turn 10.

Despite both lap times being cancelled, Hughes was awarded the pole position. If the semi-final speeds had been used, Fenestraz would have been faster and retained his pole position.

Hughes previously started on pole in the F2 sprint race in Monaco last season, where he failed to get off the line and stalled on the grid.

Race action begins in Monaco at 3 pm local time.
