Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has once again showcased his piano skills as he makes his debut on all streaming platforms with a piano composition.
The 4m11 instrumental, named AUS23 (1:1) features a piano melody which the Ferrari driver has already teased on his Instagram following the Australian Grand Prix last month, where he retired from the race on lap 1 after he was tagged by Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin at Turn 3 and was sent spinning backwards into the gravel.
Leclerc bemoaned Ferrari’s decision making in Q3 after qualifying seventh for Sunday’s race, with a number of factors meaning he couldn’t get the most out of the SF-23.
The Monegasque has often treated fans to his piano sessions on social media and currently owns a white Steinway upright piano worth $47,000, which was delivered through the window of his upper-level apartment by a crane in 2020.
The 25-year-old has a contract with Ferrari until the end of 2024 and has previously spoken about how he uses piano as an escape from the world of Formula 1.
Leclerc, who has played piano since the age of six, was asked if he had ever recorded a song in Formula 1’s latest ‘never have I ever’ YouTube video.
“I am doing it now,” he said. “It‘s not going to be public. I mean, I am just doing it for myself, I am trying to produce songs, but [it’s] early days.”
In a recent episode of the Beyond The Grid Podcast, Leclerc revealed that he had also started to learn different instruments, such as the guitar, as he understandably couldn’t carry his 240kg Steinway with him on race weekends.
