Max Verstappen ended the opening practice session from the Australian Grand Prix weekend on top of the timesheet.
The 60-minute outing in Melbourne was scrappy, with several deep moments, spins and traffic hold-ups occurring.
A brief red flag had to be thrown in the session as the GPS session that teams rely on had to be rebooted.

Verstappen’s team-mate Sergio Perez, who take the race win last time out in Jeddah, was third fastest behind the leading Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton
Fernando Alonso was fourth, while the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz ended the session in fifth and sixth respectively.
