Porsche works drivers Mathieu Jaminet and Nick Tandy will complete Porsche’s 963 Hypercar driver lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, joining Felipe Nasr in the manufacturer’s third factory car for the French endurance classic.
This means there will be a total of three works Porsches at this year’s Le Mans, in addition to the JOTA customer car, making a total of four cars from the Weissach-based brand.
The car will run under the #75 number, signifying the 75th anniversary of the Porsche brand.
Nasr, Jaminet and Tandy are all regular IMSA drivers for Porsche Penske Motorsport. In addition, Tandy won Le Mans overall in 2015 in the Porsche 919 Hybrid, alongside Earl Bamber and Nico Hulkenberg. He also has experience in the GTE category for both Porsche and Corvette.
Jaminet, meanwhile, has not raced in the top class at Le Mans before. He has one start at the twice-around-the-clock race, 2019 in GTE Pro in a Porsche 911 RSR-19, alongside Sven Muller and Dennis Olsen. They finished 27th overall and seventh in class.
Nasr has raced three times at Le Mans, all in the LMP2 category, with a best finish of fifth in class and ninth overall, coming last year for Team Penske, joining Dane Cameron and Le Mans veteran Emmanuel Collard.
Matt Campbell, another Porsche factory driver in IMSA, will be the reserve driver across all three Porsche works entries at Le Mans.
The 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place June 10-11 2023.
