PU change rules de Vries out of final practice

AlphaTauri driver Nyck de Vries was unable to participate in final practice for Formula 1’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix due to a power unit setback.

AlphaTauri detected an issue ahead of the one-hour session and as a consequence the team has been forced into a power unit change.

It leaves Yuki Tsunoda as AlphaTauri’s sole participant in the sesson.

Full-time 2023 rookie de Vries has never before raced at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit and finished 17th at the end of Friday’s second session

The setback for de Vries and AlphaTauri comes a day after boss Franz Tost launched a broadside criticising his engineers over the performance of the AT04.
