Romain Grosjean stunned the field by taking a convincing pole at the IndyCar season opener from St. Petersburg.

Grosjean’s Andretti Autosport team-mate Colton Herta came up just short in his bid to get pole, but was still emblematic of how strong the team looked all afternoon.
A few dramatic spins in the final Fast 6 session took a few good drivers out of contention for pole as they attempted to set the fastest laps of the weekend.
