The #25 BMW M Hybrid V8 is due to head back on track soon, with mechanics pushing the car out of the garage to the team’s pit box.
The car spent almost two hours in the garage after suffering a “hybrid or battery issue” on track, according to driver Connor De Phillippi. But he also said the car should be heading out “hopefully in the next 30 mins” – which was proven roughly correct.
Nick Yelloly stopped the car on track and for a little while, no one could touch in – and Yelloly could not get out – as the hybrid system was still “live”. Mechanics eventually managed to push it back to the garage.
De Philippi is in the car now, although it is 82 laps down and at the very back of the field as of the time of writing.
