Hugh Barter will make his debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship this year, competing with Campos Racing.
Barter spent the 2022 season racing in the Spanish and French Formula 4 Championships, finishing runner-up in both categories.
The Australian driver won multiple races across both series and has now been tasked with a drive in FIA F3 with Campos, the team he raced for in Spanish F4.
“I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be doing F3 with Campos Racing this year,” Barter said.
“It’ll be good to keep the relationship going after a strong season with them in Formula 4 so I look forward to it.
“I would also like to thank my main sponsor Platinum High Integrity Technologies Limited because without them it would not be possible.”
Barter already has experience in F3 machinery, having taken part in the post-season test with Campos last year.
The 17-year-old is the second driver to be announced to the team’s F3 line-up, as Christian Mansell has already been confirmed.
“We are proud to continue working with Hugh after a 2022 season with plenty of success,” said Campos team boss Adrian Campos.
“The Formula 3 championship is yet a more difficult challenge but we feel confident as he is a very talented driver with excellent skills.
“We really hope he will be able to quickly learn with our support and experience in order to end the season fighting for top results.”
