Jean-Eric Vergne kickstarted Formula E’s new Gen3 era off in style as he ended the opening practice session of the year in Mexico City as the fastest drier.
The two-time champion of the all-electric series was just under a tenth of a second faster than Jake Hughes, who impressed for McLaren in both his and the team’s debut session.
Sergio Sette Camara was third for NIO 333, while Pascal Wehrlein and Stoffel Vandoorne rounded out the top five.
