Sergio Perez will run a special helmet livery for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend, promoting the new Black Panther movie.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the latest instalment in the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to be released this weekend.
Through the race weekend from the Interlagos Circuit, Perez will wear the helmet, which is largely grey in colour while featuring the black panther logo.
“My helmet for the next race, your thoughts? Hope we can be as fast as Black Panther,” Perez wrote on social media.
F1 has seen a connection with the Black Panther series before when Chadwick Boseman, who played the title character in the 2018 film, passed away.
Lewis Hamilton took pole position at the 2020 Belgian Grand Prix, one day after Boseman died.
He subsequently dedicated his achievement to the American actor.
Perez enters the Brazilian race weekend as he looks to strengthen his hold of second in the Drivers’ Championship.
Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen has already wrapped up the Drivers’ title with several rounds to spare.
However, Perez is currently locked in a close tussle with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, and currently leads the Monegasque driver by five points in the standings.
“I think in general with Charles it has been good, the fighting,” Perez said last time out in Mexico. “It’s always, really close, really tight.
“And you know that Charles will be aggressive, always, but always fair. And it’s something I don’t believe he will change, no matter how we get into Abu Dhabi, what difference will it make because he is like that?
“And I don’t see that changing. And I also feel like, from my side, I’m also fair. So I don’t expect that to change.”
