Formula 1’s planned tyre test will now no longer take place at the Japanese Grand Prix due to inclement weather conditions.
Rain has been falling throughout the day at Suzuka, limiting drivers to Intermediates in the first session, while conditions have worsened through the lunch break.
Sole supplier Pirelli had planned to run its prototype 2023 tyres for 30 minutes of an extended 90-minute second session, but this will now no longer happen.
The second session will remain 90 minutes in duration.
Pirelli plans to re-arrange the test for the Mexico City round, alongside the already planned test in Austin.
