The FIA has confirmed that a fan has been removed by event security at Zandvoort after a flare was thrown on track.

Q2 began, with Alexander Albon on track, but was swiftly red flagged after a flare – emitting orange smoke – was thrown on track between Turns 12 and 13.

The session was delayed by six minutes before it was ultimately resumed.

Fans have been warned not to bring flares into Zandvoort this weekend and the FIA communicated that the person responsible was quickly identified and removed by event security.
