Felipe Fraga won the second DTM race of the weekend at the Norisring, his maiden win in the series for Red Bull AF Corse Ferrari.
After starting on pole, the Brazilian led the whole race from lights to flag, pitting late and retaining the lead. Mirko Bortolotti finished second, taking the championship lead as his title rival, Sheldon van der Linde, did not finish in the points.
Abt’s Rene Rast finished third, his second podium in as many races, confirming his status as a championship challenger, just nine points behind Bortolotti and one behind S. van der Linde.
Marco Wittmann finished fourth, with SSR Performance Porsche’s Dennis Olsen fifth. The Norwegian pitted earlier than the top four, jumping up the order from his eighth-place grid position.
Reigning champion Maximillian Gotz finished sixth, with Fraga’s temporary teammate Ayhancan Guven in seventh. Luca Stolz was eighth, while Saturday’s race winner Thomas Preining finished ninth. Finally, Maro Engel rounded out the top 10.
