Front row lockout for Chip Ganassi Cadillacs at Long Beach in IMSA qualifying

Sebastien Bourdais led a Chip Ganassi Cadillac front row lockout in qualifying the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, with teammate Alex Lynn in second.

Lynn had set a record lap around the Long Beach track in the #02 Cadillac, a 1:09.833, but Bourdais snuck in a 1:09.472 to go over three and half tenths quicker with minutes remaining in the session.

Tom Blomqvist, behind the wheel of the #60 Meyer Shank Cadillac, went third, 0.467 slower than Bourdais.

In GTD Pro, Jordan Taylor in the #3 Corvette set a set a 1:18.048 to take class pole. #25 BMW Team RLL M3 GT3’s Conor de Phillippi was just 0.067 slower in second, while Mathieu Jaminet for #9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 was third, just over a tenth slower than Taylor.

Finally, in GTD, Madison Snow took class pole with a 1:18.487 for #1 Paul Miller BMW M4 GT3, while Robby Foley, in the #96 Turner Motorsports BMW M4 GT3 made it in all BMW front-row, 0.112 slower than his fellow BMW driver. Brit Jack Hawksworth, behind the wheel of the #14 VasserSullivan Lexus RC F GT3 qualified third in class, 0.0.28 slower than Foley.
