Felix Rosenqvist will start from pole for the IndyCar race from Texas Motor Speedway, and he has singled out his well-handling car as the reason for his performance.
Rosenqvist’s Arrow McLaren SP team nailed the setup before they even arrived at the track, and the team did not have to make hardly any changes throughout the day.
That well-handling car has given him a ton of confidence for the weekend, and the Swede feels he will perform even better in Sunday’s race.
“I think we’re going to be even stronger in the race,” said Rosenqvist after qualifying. “I mean, I can’t promise that, but we have every reason to think that we have a good package overall, and I think the strength in our car here is very confidence-inspiring.
“It never really feels edgy. It’s just really good setup, so, yeah, we’re happy going into the race.
“I remember the first time I came here. Then it was definitely not fun. I was really scared the first time I was here, and it was actually the first superspeedway I ever did.
“But, I think from 2020 onwards it’s been a track where I feel really calm and confident, and I kind of know how to attack the race and how to work with the driving line and how the car needs to be set up, and I think it suits me pretty well.
“Yeah, definitely I feel like I have some unfinished business at Texas.”
Rosenqvist will start from the inside of the front row on Sunday, and will look to keep Scott McLaughlin in the outside lane at bay in order to keep the advantage on the first lap.
The XPEL 375 gets underway Sunday at 12:30 PM Eastern Time, and will be live on NBC in America and on Sky Sports in the UK.
