Formula 1 is gearing up for its second pre-season test ahead of the start of the new campaign.
The second group gathering, which will run across three days from Thursday through Saturday, will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Running is due to take place from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00 local time at the circuit which will host the opening grand prix of 2022 from March 18 to 20.
The new-for-2022 cars ran in anger for the first time at the three-day Barcelona test last month, at which several conclusions were unearthed, most prominently the phenomenon known as ‘porpoising’.
Mercedes set the pace, with Lewis Hamilton leading George Russell, but it was Ferrari that fronted the important mileage charts.
As per the opening test each team is permitted to field only one car per day and will consequently split track time between its drivers.
Haas is set to miss Thursday morning’s running due to a delay in its freight arriving late to Bahrain; it is hopeful that its car will be ready in time for Thursday afternoon’s session.
Pietro Fittipaldi will test the VF-22 while the returning Kevin Magnussen will have his first taste of the new car on Friday.
The full test is set to be broadcast live on F1TV and its associated partners.
