For IndyCar’s return to Iowa Speedway later this year, fans will be able to see concerts from multiple award-winning country music artists while at the track.
Three-time Grammy award winner Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line will play concerts before and after the first race of the doubleheader on Saturday.
Then on Sunday, Gwen Stefani and nine-time Grammy nominated artist Blake Shelton will put on performances for the crowd attending the conclusion to the race weekend.
All concerts will be performed on a stage facing the main grandstands, and all events are included with a standard race entry ticket. A special pass is available for fans that want to stand on the track in the ‘pit’ section for the post-race concerts.
“We want this event to be one of the most talked about events of the year by providing race-goers with an unforgettable experience,” said Hy-Vee’s chairman and CEO Randy Edeker in a release.
“We are thrilled to work with our sponsors to bring this caliber of musical entertainment to Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend at Iowa Speedway. Iowa will be the place to be this summer with these live music acts coupled with nationally televised IndyCar races and a festival-like atmosphere that has something for everyone to enjoy.”
In addition to the concerts, a food truck village and kids activity area will be present to help keep the whole family entertained.
Hy-Vee, a popular regional grocery store, has been a major sponsor of IndyCar’s return to Iowa Speedway, becoming the title sponsor of both races and running a slew of themed commercials on TV along with organizing the concert-laden weekend schedule.
Hy-Vee is also a major sponsor of the Rahal Letterman Lanigan race team, with Jack Harvey driving a car adorned with the chain’s black and red livery.
The Iowa doubleheader is the only dual race on the calendar this year, and will take place on the July 22-24 weekend.
