Olli Caldwell will make his full season debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship this year, signing with Campos Racing.
The Briton made his first appearance in the series with Campos at the final two rounds of the 2021 campaign, scoring a best result of 12th.
Caldwell’s primary focus last year was in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, where he took one victory and a further three podiums for Prema en route to eighth in the Drivers’ standings.
“I’m very excited to be joining Campos Racing, especially after finishing the last two rounds and the post-season test with them,” Caldwell said.
“I get on really well with the team and especially with Ralph [Boschung]. The car is looking very strong and I think we can definitely achieve some very good results this year.”
The new season of F2 will commence in Bahrain next month, supporting the opening weekend of the 2022 F1 campaign.
Caldwell’s racing season will be conducted while under the watch of Alpine, having signed with its junior academy for the year.
Campos Racing Team Principal Adrián Campos added: “We have closely followed Olli Caldwell’s racing career for a long time and we know he has plenty of potential.
“Despite we have spent very little time working together, our feeing couldn’t be better. Olli has quickly adapted to the team and the F2 car.
“We are convinced that we have a great season ahead. Olli has the necessary instinct, commitment and mind to continue growing as a racing driver and we will provide him our expertise to continue improving at Campos Racing.”
