McLaren has become the latest team to take the covers off its 2022 Formula 1 car, the MCL36, during an event at its facility in Woking on Friday evening.
The car will be raced in the upcoming season by Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo.
Norris is entering his fourth year in Formula 1 with McLaren after a breakthrough 2021 campaign in which he claimed multiple podiums and his maiden pole position.
Ricciardo endured a more subdued time, following his switch from Renault, but grasped his opportunity to end McLaren’s nine-year wait for a win when he triumphed in Italy.
McLaren finished fourth in last year’s Constructors’ Championship, having recorded its highest points tally since 2012.
The MCL36 will, as with its direct predecessor, be powered by Mercedes engines, as part of McLaren’s long-term arrangement with the manufacturer.
AlphaTauri is due to be the next team to present its 2022 package, the AT03, on Monday.
Oh boy, another unsightly orange McLaren livery (now with another random blue color for some reason), looking straight out of GP2 circa-2005. Zak Papaya wouldn’t have it any other way, would he? You know, if the car is going to be orange, why not at least use actual McLaren orange instead of this pumpkin nonsense?
