Cadillac has released new teaser images of its upcoming LMDh prototype.
The car will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
It remains unnamed as of yet, although Cadillac is already referring to the car as GTP car, in reference to IMSA’s recent announcement that the top class for Le Mans Hypercars and LMDh machinery will be renamed ‘GTP’ in 2023.
“While the new race car will take into account IMSA and ACO regulations, Cadillac’s brand characteristics will be instantly recognizable, many of which are seen on our V-Series vehicles today,” said Chris Mikalauskas, lead exterior creative designer, Cadillac.
“It will artistically combine form and function to influence the development of the forthcoming race car. Elements of Cadillac’s brand DNA, such as vertical lighting and floating blades, will be present throughout.”
The new images and video features a number of changes compared to the first render released last summer, notably now featuring a shark fin and rear wing. The original image was wingless, something that is not allowed under LMDh regulations.
Cadillac’s LMDh car is being developed in partnership with Dallara and looks set to begin on-track testing this summer.
