Former Formula 1 racer David Coulthard and two-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick will team up to represent Great Britain at next month’s returning Race of Champions.
The head-to-head competition is returning for the first time since 2019 and will take place at the new location of Pite Havsbad, Sweden, across February 5/6.
Coulthard has competed at the Race of Champions on 13 occasions and has twice won the individual event, in 2014 and 2018.
It will be the first appearance at the event for Chadwick and the first woman to participate in the tournament since Susie Wolff in 2014.
“Race of Champions is an event I always enjoy competing in, but racing on snow and ice this year will be a very different experience to the stadium tracks,” said Coulthard.
“I have done some ice driving with AMG Mercedes in Sweden in the past, but it will be a challenge to beat the Nordic drivers in their element.”
Chadwick said: “I’m super excited to make my Race of Champions debut in Sweden. It’s an event I’ve always loved watching so I can’t wait to experience it for the first time.
“It’s going to be an honour to represent Great Britain with an icon like David.”
Three current Formula 1 drivers – Sebastian Vettel, Mick Schumacher and Valtteri Bottas – have signed up for the event, as have motorsport legends including Mika Hakkinen, Jimmie Johnson, Tom Kristensen, Sebastien Loeb and Helio Castoneves.
