Hitech Grand Prix has confirmed that Juri Vips will remain with the team in 2022.
Vips competed in his first full season in Formula 2 last year with the British team, ending the campaign sixth in the Drivers’ Standings.
Vips will continue with the Red Bull junior programme this year, and is the first Hitech driver confirmed at the team for the upcoming F2 campaign.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Hitech for another year,” said Vips. “We built a strong relationship in 2021, which enabled me to get to grips with the car and work closely with the team to ensure we gave our very best throughout the season.
“I’m looking forward to fighting for more victories. Massive thanks to Red Bull for their continuous support.”
Vips scored two victories and six podiums across the 2021 season, before receiving a Formula 1 outing at the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
Hitech added that it expects to confirm Vips’ F2 team-mate in the coming weeks.
Last year, the team ended the season fourth in the Teams’ standings, running Vips alongside fellow Red Bull junior Liam Lawson.
However, Lawson has departed the squad and has signed with Carlin Racing for the upcoming season.
