Lewis Hamilton has been called to see the stewards in Brazil, hours after he claimed victory at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The seven-time world champion has been summoned for an alleged breach of Appendix L Chapter III Article 4 of the FIA International Sporting Code (use of safety belts).
It states that “drivers must be properly restrained in their seat by safety belts in conformity with the technical regulations for the vehicle concerned, at all times during a competition when it is mobile on a circuit, pit lane, special stage or competition course”.
Hamilton charged from 10th on the grid to victory on Sunday, after going wheel-to-wheel with title rival Max Verstappen.
The Briton has already been penalised twice by the stewards this weekend; first, after he took on a fresh engine for the grand prix, demoting him five positions from his finishing position in the F1 Sprint.
Hamilton ended the shorter race on Saturday in fifth place, having been forced to start from the back of the field after it was found his drag reduction system breached the technical regulations after qualifying on Friday.
At last year’s Spanish Grand Prix, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc avoided punishment after driving two laps of the circuit without his seatbelts securely fastened.
