Kyle Busch will be without regular crew chief Ben Beshore when the NASCAR Cup Series runs the 2022 Busch Light Clash at the historic Los Angeles Coliseum on February 6.
Beshore was suspended for one race and fined $20,000 for two loose or missing lug nuts on Busch’s #18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota after the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season-finale at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 7.
Beshore was one of 10 NASCAR national-level crew chiefs fined for improperly secured lug nuts during the Phoenix Raceway that also included final races of the season for the NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck series.
Five additional Cup Series crew chiefs, including three from championship four teams, each were fined $10,000 for one loose or missing lug nut after the Phoenix race. They include Jeremy Bullins, crew chief on the #2 Team Penske team of Brad Keselowski; Cliff Daniels, crew chief on the #5 Hendrick Motorsports team of Kyle Larson; Chris Gabehart, crew chief on the #11 Joe Gibbs Racing team of Denny Hamlin; James Small, crew chief on the #19 Joe Gibbs Racing team of Martin Truex Jr.; and Jonathan Hassler, crew chief on the #21 Wood Brothers Racing team of Matt DiBenedetto.
