Pascal Zurlinden, Porsche Director of GT Factory Motorsports, will be vacating his position for private reasons.
Zurlinden had held the position since 2018, overseeing Porsche’s various GT racing programmes around the globe.
Under his leadership, the manufacturer took a class win at Le Mans in 2018, captured the GTE Pro world title in 2019 and enjoyed championship success in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in the same year.
The Frenchman departs Porsche ahead of the double-header finale of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Bahrain, the first round of which takes place this weekend.
In a statement supplied to MotorsportWeek com, a Porsche spokesperson confirmed Zurlinden has ‘decided to leave Porsche Motorsport for private reasons.’
“As Porsche Motorsport we regret his decision, but we have to accept his wish.”
“At Porsche we all know how much Pascal was dedicated to his role – working with teams, drivers and various Championships around the world. We can’t thank him enough for this.”
Zurlinden worked at Porsche since 2014, first joining the successful LMP1 effort in an engineering capacity.
Who will take Zurlinden’s place in the wake of his departure is currently unknown.
Porsche has gone through several management changes in recent months. In September, the German marque saw Vice President of Motorsport Fritz Enzinger step down to be replaced by Thomas Laudenbach.
